What should you do for the BEST Pictures?

While there’s no perfect answer for every baby, a few things can increase the quality of your ultrasound:
1. DRINK, DRINK, DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!! We ask our moms to increase their water intake the entire week before an ultrasound. This can increase your amniotic fluid. More fluid in front of baby’s face, means better quality of pictures we can obtain. If a baby is right up against the placenta or the side of the uterus it can cause a cloudy look over baby’s face.
2. You may want to have something sweet to eat or drink a glass of orange juice or something with caffeine a little before you come to your appointment. The sugar and caffeine will help the baby get moving in case baby is being stubborn and hiding! IF you cannot have sweets or caffeine sometimes a glass of cold water or ice chips will do the trick! Always do whatever you feel comfortable doing and what you feel like might help.
